Peer Groups

Want to talk to other students who share your experience? Join one of our peer groups!

The primary purpose of these groups is first for students to meet others who share similar experiences, to share their stories of success, and to build their own peer networks.

The following groups are currently running:

SMILE Group

Do you ever wonder how Mental Illness impacts learning?

At this peer support group (not therapy), you will experience a dual-approach to support.  The Access and Inclusion Department is partnering with Wellness Services to provide you with both learning-based strategies as well as support to help you manage your mental health challenges in post-secondary.  This partnership will allow for a holistic approach to support as they facilitate peer discussions around topics of your choice.

Topics for discussion and learning will be determined at the first session based on interest.  We will also determine if an online option is of interest.

Join us for our SMILE Peer Support Group (Students with Mental Illness In a Learning Environment) which will take place on Fridays from 1pm to 2pm per the schedule below.

Our first meeting will be in-person in room W321.

You can register to as few or as many sessions as you like.  Please either email rmeilleur@mtroyal.ca to register or go to your “events” tab in Accommodate and RSVP.
