Peer Groups

Want to talk to other students who share your experience? Join one of our peer groups!

The primary purpose of these groups is first for students to meet others who share similar experiences, to share their stories of success, and to build their own peer networks.

The following groups are currently running:

SMILE Group

Do you ever wonder how Mental Illness impacts learning? Want to figure out how to be a successful student? Learn what strategies other students use? Join us for our SMILE peer group (Students with Mental Illness In a Learning Environment)

The group is a peer group (not therapy) that gives students the chance to share success and get perspective from other students who share some of the same experiences.

We will be hosting meetings for this group at the following times:

  • Every other Wednesday from 3-4, starting September 22, room W321
  • Sep 22, Oct 6, Oct 20, Nov 3, Nov 17, and Dec 1

AD/HD Peer Group

Are you a student with a diagnosis of AD/HD? Want to find out more about AD/HD? What is it? How does it affect learning? What are some great strategies for living well with AD/HD? Join us to meet others and share wisdom!

We will be hosting meetings for this group at the following times:

  • every other Wednesday from 3-4, starting Sep 15, room W321
  • Sep 15, Sep 29, Oct 13, Oct 27, Nov 10, Nov 24, and Dec 8

D.I.C.E. (Diversity Inclusivity Conversation & Experiences)

This is a peer-lead group for students who identify as Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Colour. It has been initiated in response to racism and in support of the Black Lives Matters movement. The purpose of the group is provide a safe community for racialized students that is a positive, supportive, and learning space, to educate ourselves and others on issues of social justice, and to promote the strength of diversity.

We will be hosting online meetings at the following times:

  • Meetings will resume in Fall 2021
