Safety training

Safey training is a requirement under Section 15 of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. It is used to measure workers ability to do the job safely.

 Leadership in safety

You have been educated, trained, supervised, and are capable to work on your own. Management is responsible to deem an employee as competent.

***Do not perform work if you are not trained to do so!

EH&S coordinates and facilitates the following safety training for employees at MRU:

  • Asbestos awareness
  • Fall protection
  • Fire extinguisher training
  • Incident reporting and investigation
  • Hazard identification, assessment, and control
  • Hearing protection
  • Respiratory protection
  • Safety orientation
  • Spill response
  • Workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS 2015)
  • Workplace inspection
