MRU Now is the official mobile safety app of Mount Royal University

Download the app on your mobile device to receive real-time notifications about campus emergencies, report safety concerns, connect to Wellness resources, request Safe Walk, and more.




MRU Now emergency notifications:

  • Notify members of the MRU community when there is an emergency on campus and what action(s) to take, when required
    • Emergency information may also be communicated through the campus alarm and mass communication system, desktop alerts, Omnivex screens, and social media
  • Supplement other communication channels during fire alarms and drills

  • Use Friend Walk to let someone in your contacts monitor your trip virtually to make sure you arrive at your destination
  • Report a Tipabout a safety concern or unsafe conditions orReport an Incident
  • Easily access support resources, including Crisis Counselling and Sexual Violence Response advocates, Health and Wellness services, and campus maps



Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy

The personal information that you provide to Mount Royal University is collected under the authority of the Post-Secondary Learning Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act - Section 33(c). The information will be used for the purpose of using the MRU Now mobile app, including receiving emergency push notifications and any other push notifications that you subscribe to in the app. These notifications are sent by Mount Royal University.Collected personal information is protected from unauthorized access, collection, use, and disclosure in accordance with the FOIP Act and can be reviewed upon request subject to the provisions under the Act.
