Counselling can be about a variety of things that are interfering with your success. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, procrastination, relationship issues or other concerns, our job is to help figure out what’s going on and what might be helpful to get you back on the path to success.

Through one-on-one or group counselling, you will walk away with skills, tools and a challenged perspective that is meant to help make your academic journey enjoyable and successful.

Student Counselling Services are completely free and available only to MRU students. Alumni are eligible for one appointment post-graduation with a focus on how to access off-campus resources.

We are committed to providing students with ongoing care and counsellors are offering in-person and video sessions. To discuss your options or to book, change, or cancel an appointment, please call 403.440.6362 between Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or email We will respond to you within 48 business hours. Please be sure to include your name and a call-back number so that an administrative assistant can call you back.

Apply to complete your practicum with us

Each year, we take practicum students who are completing their Master’s or Ph.D. in the field of Counselling. Apply to complete your practicum with MRU’s Student Counselling Services.
