Jason Kokot
Instructor, Broadcast Media Studies, and Journalism
With an extensive background in electronic news gathering (ENG), electronic field production (EFP) and the broadcast industry, I have pursued broadcast/video production opportunities in live transmission, videography, network production, media asset management, non-linear editing and broadcast/production training.
During my employment in the UK ('06-'13), my career shifted slightly from broadcast/video production (in Canada) to broadcast education and business in Europe. My time in the UK consisted of broadcast/video production education, freelance video and editing production and pan-European network production systems training for Sony Europe Ltd. broadcast customers.
While at Sony, I was responsible for managing the design, development and delivery of bespoke broadcast solutions training to European broadcast customers. Varying in scale from ad-hoc customer training through to multi-million Euro projects, matching business requirements in terms of technology, products & solutions was an absolute priority. Preceding this, my career in Canada included ENG/EFP/live production/editing roles at CBC, CTV and A-Channel. Having returned to Canada in '13, I am currently employed as Head of Technical Production at Mount Royal University, furthering students' education in both Journalism and Broadcast Media.
