BIOGRAPHY

Cuban journalist and editor with more than twenty years of professional experience in her country of origin. She is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Calgary's Department of Communication, Media, and Film. Her current research focuses on the intersection between citizenship as a form of civic agency, digital media and feminist online practices in Latin America. She has worked as an instructor and TA at the University of Calgary, in courses such as Introduction to Communication Studies, New Media, Research Methods, Rhetorical Communication and Modernity. She has been a contract faculty at Mount Royal University since 2023, teaching Research Methods (2023, 2024), Media History and Contemporary Issues (2025), and Intercultural Communication (2024-2026).
