Wednesday, November 4 - 2.p.m. 

Thursday, November 5 – 2 p.m.

Friday, November 6 – 10 a.m.


You can arrive and begin parking in lot 2 up to one hour before the ceremony begins. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. All vehicles must be in place 15 minutes before the ceremony begins.  


There will be individuals directing traffic flow into the campus off Richardson Way on the northwest side of campus. Upon arrival, a parking attendant will direct you to a parking stall in lot 2, where the ceremony will take place. 

Motorhomes and oversized vehicles are not permitted to ensure all guests can view the screens. Limousines are also not permitted because they will not fit into parking spaces. 

Once you are parked, please turn your engine off. Do not exit your vehicle during the ceremony unless it is to use the washroom. 

Due to limited parking spaces, the Convocation ceremonies will not be organized by faculty. Instead, you can choose which date and time you prefer based on a first-come first-served basis.

Ceremony Station

Please tune your radio to FM 88.5 to listen to the ceremony. There will be music on the radio station, along with videos and information on the screens playing for one hour before and for one hour after the ceremony. 

COVID-19 Measures For everyone’s health and safety, students and guests cannot gather informally outside of vehicles before, after or during the convocation ceremony. Instead, please stay in your vehicle unless you need to use the washroom. If washroom access is required, please go directly to and from the facilities from your car, practise physical distancing and wear a mask when in indoor public spaces. 

If you are experiencing COVID symptoms, please stay home.

WashroomsWashrooms are located on the Cougars concourse through the Recreation Entrance. You must wear a mask and use hand sanitizer to enter the University. 



The fee for attending the Fall 2020 Convocation ceremony will be at a reduced rate of $25. Payment can be made through two methods:

  1. Internet or Telephone Banking

    • All major banks and credit unions offer Internet and telephone banking where you can pay your fees 24 hours a day

    • Register with your bank to make online bill payments

    • Once you have registered with your bank, your student ID number (201XXXXXX) is the account number required to make payment

    • Allow 2-3 business days for bank processing

  2. Credit Card through Plastiq

    • Acceptable forms of payment include Visa, MasterCard and Amex.

    • Plastiq charges a platform fee of 2.85% to your credit card, (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) effective Sept.5, 2020.

    • Plastiq is an independent third party service provider that you can use to pay your tuition. Ensure that you understand Plastiq's Terms of Service before using their services.

    • Your payment may take up to 2-3 business days to process to your MRU account.

Mount Royal University is not affiliated with Plastiq and does not endorse or recommend its services. Disputes regarding Plastiq's services must be resolved directly between Plastiq and the payee/student. Mount Royal University does not guarantee Plastiq's availability or services and use of Plastiq may result in delays in Mount Royal receiving payment. Students remain responsible for any payments which Plastiq fails to submit on their behalf. Your use of Plastic is solely at your own risk and it is your responsibility to review its terms of use, privacy policy, security standards, and any other legal notices. In no event shall Mount Royal University be responsible or liable for any direct or indirect losses or damages whatsoever, arising from your use of, reliance on, or inability to use, Plastiq. Questions or concerns with these charges should be directed to Plastiq.

We understand that many of you had already paid for the ceremony that was postponed in the spring. If you have already paid, and wish to attend a ceremony, please fill out the RSVP form for the ceremony you plan to attend and we will refund the $25 difference from the original fee.

If you have already paid, have not already requested a refund and are unable to attend a ceremony this November, please fill out this form and we will refund the full $50.

Information for guests

  • Tickets are not required to attend Convocation; however, due to the capacity of our venue, guest attendance will be limited to one vehicle per graduand.
  • The parking lots will open one hour prior to the start of each ceremony.
  • Ceremonies are approximately two hours in duration. Small children may find it difficult to sit through the entire ceremony.
  • As a courtesy to others, we ask that guests remain in their vehicles until conclusion of the ceremony.

Note: Guests who require special consideration or assistance are asked to call the Office of University Advancement at 403.440.7090. Ushers will be on location to direct students and guests to their assigned parking spot.
