Accreditation

Mount Royal University’s Massage Therapy Diploma is fully accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation (CMTCA).

Graduates of this program are eligible for municipal licensing. Please visit the City of Calgary or connect with your local municipality.

Regulatory Organizations and Associations

Massage therapy regulation in Canada is managed at the provincial level, which means requirements vary across the country. In some provinces, massage therapy is a regulated health profession, and practitioners must meet education standards and be registered with a provincial regulatory college to practice as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). In other provinces and territories, massage therapy is not yet regulated, though professional associations still help maintain high standards of practice.

This CMTCA-accredited program is recognized by the following regulated provincial organizations:

Mount Royal University is a member school of the Canadian Council of Massage Therapy Schools . We have also served on the Board of Directors.

Federation of Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FOMTRAC)
Mount Royal University teaches to the national practice competencies and performance indicators set by the Federation of Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada .

Transitional Council for the College of Massage Therapy of Alberta (TC-CMTA)
