Regulatory Organizations and Associations

Massage therapy regulation in Canada is managed at the provincial level, which means requirements vary across the country. In some provinces, massage therapy is a regulated health profession, and practitioners must meet education standards and be registered with a provincial regulatory college to practice as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). In other provinces and territories, massage therapy is not yet regulated, though professional associations still help maintain high standards of practice.

Mount Royal University teaches to the national practice competencies and performance indicators set by the Federation of Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada .
