Jill Metcalfe received her M.Ed and B.Ed from the University of Alberta. As a U of A M.Ed candidate, she created and led Global Citizenship workshops for undergraduates and teachers. She presented her research at provincial, national and international professional and academic conferences. Jill has 13 years of experience teaching for the Edmonton Public School Board and the Calgary Board of Education. She has a wide range of experience teaching grades 3 to 11 as well as the Science Alternative program and Gifted and Talented Education program. She is committed to student engagement, innovative teaching strategies and, most importantly, providing a safe and inclusive learning environment. Over the years, she has been a dedicated mentor teacher to many MRU teacher candidates. In her free time, Jill loves to snowboard, hike, cook and travel with her family (which now includes her adorable one-year-old).
