Maria has been a teacher for over 20 years. After obtaining a Psychology degree from UVIC, she completed a post-baccalaureate Education degree at UBC. She started by teaching English to international students in Vancouver, before moving to Kwangju, South Korea to teach elementary and then university students. She also taught public schools in Fort St. John and Calgary. More recently, she graduated from the Athabasca University, GCAP program, is a registered psychologist and a member of the College of Alberta Psychologist and Psychologist Association of Alberta. As an educational psychologist, she works with schools, teachers, students and families.
