Having earned my Bachelor of Nursing from Mount Royal University in 2013, returning to MRU feels both familiar and deeply inspiring, fueling my passion to contribute and grow alongside this community. My clinical background is rooted in cardiovascular intensive care (CVICU), a role that has shaped my perspectives on nursing and the importance of creating meaningful human connections in practice. Working in the CVICU during the COVID-19 pandemic made it clear to me the vital role nurses play in a constantly evolving healthcare system and underscored the need for accessible mental and emotional well-being resources. This insight inspired my graduate research, which focused on how nurses can effectively support each other in challenging work and practice environments. My time transitioning from part-time to full-time teaching over the past few years at MRU has been deeply rewarding. I have had many opportunities to collaborate with students and staff, which has shaped my approach to teaching and learning. My teaching interests include adult acute care and research methods, with a focus on fostering clinical judgment.
