To further strengthen its community-driven research and scholarship, MRU holds memberships and partnerships with several key research-related organizations. Alliance of Canadian Comprehensive Research Universities (ACCRU)
ACCRU

 

Established in 2011, the Alliance of Canadian Comprehensive Research Universities (ACCRU) is a network that shares information, resources, and strategies to support research excellence in small and medium-sized comprehensive universities across Canada. ACCRU member Universities span all 10 provinces and the Yukon and represent nearly half of all Canadian universities.

Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC)
CCAC

Since 1968, the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) has taken a unique and truly Canadian approach to the ethical care and use of animals in science. It provides the only national oversight of animal-based scientific activities in Canada through a rigorous process of assessment and certification, and standards development and ensures that animals in science are used only when necessary, and that when they are, they receive optimal care according to high-quality, evidence-informed standards. To meet its mandate, the CCAC relies on the support of more than 2,000 volunteer experts, serving on more than 200 local animal care committees and other subcommittees and task forces.

Community-Based Research Canada (CBRCanada)
CBRC

Community-Based Research Canada (CBRCanada) is a national champion and facilitator of community-based research excellence, a research approach addressing challenging societal problems. CBRCanada leads initiatives for community and academic groups on various aspects of community-based research, including monthly webinars and live discussions, community of practice groups, national awards for excellence in community-based research and the C2UExpo international conference.

Consortium for the Advancement of Research Methods & Analysis (CARMA)
CARMA

Established in 1997, the Consortium for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis (CARMA) is an interdisciplinary consortium devoted to helping faculty, graduate students, and professionals learn about current developments in various areas of research methods and statistics. CARMA is a non-profit unit at Texas Tech University.

Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR)
CUR

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR), incorporated in 1980, is an organization of individual, institutional, and affiliate members from around the world. CUR members share a focus on providing high-quality and collaborative undergraduate research, scholarly, and creative activity opportunities for faculty and students. CUR believes that faculty members enhance their teaching and contribution to society by remaining active in research and by involving undergraduates in research, and that students engaged in undergraduate research succeed in their studies and professional advancement.

Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences
HSS

The Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences is a national membership organization that promotes scholarship and leadership in the humanities and social sciences (HSS) through advocacy, capacity-building, and knowledge exchange. The Federation for the HSS strengthens the national infrastructure that connects HSS knowledge to the places it is needed. Working with a membership of more than 160 universities, colleges, and scholarly associations representing over 90,000 researchers and graduate students, the Federation for the HSS convenes through Big Thinking summits and Canada’s leading academic gathering Congress.

Research Impact Canada (RIC)
RIC

Research Impact Canada (RIC) is committed to helping universities and other organizations across Canada maximize the impact of research for communities. From sharing best practices, co-developing resources, to delivering training in knowledge mobilization skills, RIC is an open and collaborative network of 20+ universities across Canada. RIC works with both academic and non-academic stakeholders across a variety of organizations – including researchers, research administrative staff, academics, students, faculty, public sector leaders, and projects dedicated to skills development.

Royal Society of Canada (RSC)
RSC

In order to establish the foundation for multiple initiatives, the Royal Society of Canada elects Fellows and Members while also making awards to highlight specific exceptional achievements. In addition to Fellows and Members of the College, the RSC includes Institutional Members from throughout Canada that play key roles in advancing inclusive excellence for the benefit of Canada and the world.

The Conversation Canada
CC

The Conversation is an independent source of news and views, from the academic and research community, delivered directly to the public. The Conversation’s team of professional editors works with experts to unlock their knowledge for use by the wider public, and their aim is to allow for a better understanding of current affairs and complex issues. To be published by The Conversation, you must be currently employed as a researcher or academic with a university or university-affiliated research institution.

University of the Arctic (UArctic) 
UArtic

The University of the Arctic (UArctic) is a network of universities, colleges, research institutes, and other organizations concerned with education and research in and about the North. UArctic builds and strengthens collective resources and infrastructures that enable member institutions to better serve their constituents and their regions. Through cooperation in education, research, and outreach, UArctic enhances human capacity in the North, promotes viable communities and sustainable economies, and forges global partnerships. Created through the Arctic Council, UArctic is committed to upholding its principles of sustainable development as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. UArctic is constituted as an international association based in Finland.
