Employment Preparation Certificate Graduation Celebration
We are excited to celebrate the graduates of the Transitional Vocational Program’s Employment Preparation Certificate at a special event on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020. The program will begin at 9 a.m. in Lot 2 by the West Gate entrance. Please see below for more information on parking, washrooms, etc.
You can arrive and begin parking in lot 2 up to one hour before the ceremony begins. All vehicles must be in place 15 minutes before the ceremony begins, so please be parked by 8:45 a.m.
Similar to a drive-in movie, large screens will show what is happening on the stage. Tune into 88.5 FM on your vehicle’s radio to hear the audio. There will be closed captioning at the event.
Click on the Graduation program button, below, for the lineup for the event.
Safety and COVID-19 precautions
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, students and their guests must stay in their vehicles during the event. If people get out of their vehicles, they will be asked to return to their vehicles. Those in the Platform Party will physically distance on the stage.
As this is a ceremony, rather than a social gathering, it can proceed in alignment with Alberta Health Services’ restrictions based on the protocols in place.
For everyone’s health and safety, students and guests cannot gather informally outside of vehicles before, after or during the convocation ceremony. Instead, please stay in your vehicle unless you need to use the washroom. If washroom access is required, please go directly to and from the facilities from your car, practise physical distancing and wear a mask when in indoor public spaces.
If you are experiencing COVID symptoms, please stay home.
For more information, email tvp@mtroyal.ca or call 403.440.6872.
Come to the event by Richardson Way on the northwest side of campus. Upon arrival, a parking attendant will direct you to a parking stall in Lot 2 by the West Gate entrance. Leave one stall between your vehicle and other vehicles.
Motorhomes and oversized vehicles are not permitted to ensure all guests can view the screens.
Once you are parked, please turn off your engine. Do not exit your vehicle during the ceremony unless it is to use the washroom.
Washrooms facilities will be availablee on the Cougars concourse through the Recreation Entrance. You must wear a mask and use hand sanitizer to enter the University. Please follow occupancy limits in washrooms and elevators.
The event will be livestreamed for those who can’t attend in person. Please feel free to share the mru.ca/TVPGrad2020 link with family and friends so they can share in the celebration of student success. The broadcast will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. There will be a live stream link at the top of this page at that time.
