Registration for New Student Orientation is open as of April 7, 2026
As the online portion of the New Student Orientation, MRUbegin is the key to unlocking academic and personal success. Hear from students, staff, and faculty about navigating the topics of academic expectations, campus culture and services, your rights and responsibilities, and campus life. Register now and begin building a strong foundation for your first year of studies at MRU. While MRUbegin provides a critical foundation of knowledge about life at MRU, Orientation Days give you the opportunity to get connected with your peers, faculty, and campus community.
What to Register for:
When you register for New Student Orientation, you are signing up for:
- Online Orientation (MRUbegin in D2L): April 7 - September 30 - Complete the modules before attending the Orientation Days.
- Orientation Days: September 1 & 2 - Get connected with your peers, faculty and campus community.
You only need to register once to access both components.
How to Register for Orientation:

Step 1:
Go to MyMRU> Register & Pay

Step 2:
Scroll down to the “Register” window and select “Registration Landing Page”.

Step 3:
You will be taken to a new window with four icons. Select, “Add/Drop/Withdraw Classes”.

Step 4:
From the dropdown menu, select your upcoming semester (Fall 2026).

Step 5:
In the subject bar, type “Orientation” and select it from the list.

Step 6:
Select your program from the list of courses available.

Step 7:
Click the “Add” button next to the course and click "Submit".

Step 8:
Proceed to learn.mru.ca to start. Click on “My Courses” and you will see MRUbegin! You are now enrolled in the online orientation and Orientation Days!

Step 9:
You're in! Have fun learning!
