After booking an appointment, you will automatically receive an email confirming your booking and providing some additional information.

What if I need to cancel?

  • Cancel at least 2 hours before your appointment, or it counts as a no-show. Please give us as much notice as possible so we can serve other students.
  • Use the link provided in the confirmation email to cancel.
  • If you have 2 no-shows, you will be unable to book further appointments until the next semester.

What should I have ready for my appointment?

Please have your assignment instructions open on your computer so that you can share them with the Learning Strategist during the appointment.

Appointments for help with writing:

  • You do not need to have a complete draft ready! We can often help more if you come at an earlier stage in the writing process (e.g., when you have a rough outline, or a couple of body paragraphs written).
  • We won't edit your paper, but we can definitely help you learn how to edit your own writing more effectively!

Appointments for help with exams:

  • We can discuss useful test-taking strategies for different types of exam questions (e.g., multiple choice, problem-solving, short answer, essay).
  • If you are working on an exam (e.g., take-home exam), we cannot look at or provide feedback about your answers.

(Please note, a 30-minute appointment does not replace a 75-minute workshop.)
