Application process
To apply, visit our Career Opportunities page, click on the job title that matches your interests, and select “Apply to this Job” at the bottom of the page. You will be prompted to create a profile on the MRU Talent Management System (TMS) or log in to your existing profile.

Yes, you’re welcome to apply to multiple positions that suit your qualifications and interests. Be sure to tailor your resume and attachments for each role, using our suggested naming convention to differentiate resume attachments from each other:
[Last Name], [Requisition Number], [Document Title].pdf (ex. Smith, 999999, CV.pdf).
Selection committee members are able to view all Word or PDF documents uploaded to the resume attachments section of your profile. Please review your attachments each time you apply for a position, ensuring that you name and save your documents clearly. Remove any attachments which are no longer needed.
Timelines vary by role. Typically, we will be in touch with shortlisted candidates within two to four weeks of the application closing date.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. To check the status of your application:
- Log into the MRU Talent Management System (TMS) using your existing credentials.
- Click on the “Career Centre” tab on the top ribbon. A left hand navigation menu will appear.
- Click on the “Resume Submission History” tab to see the current status of your applications.
Yes! You can create a job alert in the TMS to be notified via email when new opportunities that match your interests are posted. Here’s how:
- Create a profile or log in to the TMS.
- Returning users: log in with your existing credentials.
- New users: create an account before setting up alerts.
- Once logged in, go to the “My Job Search Agents” tab in the top ribbon.
- Click “Create New Search Agent” in the top right corner.
- Set your preferences by selecting filters, then click “Search” to view current opportunities.
- Click “Save Search as an Agent” to activate the alert.
You will now receive emails when new jobs matching your criteria are posted.
Technical and application issues
Follow the below steps to review, remove or add attachments:
- Log into the TMS using your existing credentials.
- Click on the “Career Centre” tab on the top ribbon. A left hand navigation menu will appear.
- The “Resume” tab allows you to access and manage the resume that appears in your profile. This resume is available via all applications submitted through our applicant tracking system.
- The “Cover Letter” tab is currently disabled and will say, “There is no data to display”.
- The “Resume Attachments” tab allows you to access and manage all attached documents. Here you are able to view your attachments through the download feature, delete previously submitted attachments, and add new attachments.

Check that your files are in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format and under the maximum file size. Try renaming the file if issues persist. Still having trouble? Email us at erecruiter@mtroyal.ca.
External applicants: Use the “Forgot password?” link to reset or email erecruiter@mtroyal.ca for further assistance.
Internal employees: Use your mtroyal.ca credentials to sign in as an internal applicant.
Try using a different website browser in the event the site isn’t working. Email erecruiter@mtroyal.ca if you are still having issues and we will help you troubleshoot.
The full name associated with your profile is required, including any middle names entered. If you are unsure, review this information via your Career Center - Resume Profile. You can also select “Edit resume” and update your personal information to make any changes or refresh your details. Email erecruiter@mtroyal.ca if you are still having issues and we will assist you.
You should have an automatic notification from the MRU Talent Management System (TMS) confirming that your application was submitted. To double check or review your application status, follow these steps to view your resume submission history:
- Log into the TMS using your existing credentials.
- Click on the “Career Centre” tab on the top ribbon. A left hand navigation menu will appear.
- Click on the “Resume Submission History” tab to confirm that your application has been submitted and to also view any incomplete applications that you are in the process of completing.
If you didn’t receive a confirmation email, check your spam or junk folder, or log in to verify that your application was submitted successfully.
Internal applicants
Visit the TMS with your mtroyal.ca credentials. You’ll automatically be identified as an internal applicant and gain access to internal only postings, along with external postings that can help you Grow Beyond your current role.

You are considered an employee! Please login using the steps in the previous question.
You are not required to notify your manager when you apply for a position, but if you progress to the reference check stage, your current supervisor will need to be contacted as part of that process.
We encourage you to have a conversation with your manager when the time feels right, to support transparency and ongoing professional development, as you explore your next step within MRU.
