Beyond Borders

Beyond Borders is a dynamic, curiosity driven cultural competency course designed to take participants on a journey across vibrant cultures from around the world. Each month, we’ll step into a new cultural landscape—exploring its traditions, values, stories, rituals, and ways of communicating that shape how people live, connect, and belong.

This isn’t a lecture—it’s an immersive exploration.

Through thoughtful discussion, storytelling, food, art, and symbols, participants will gain practical insights into the nuances of each culture. We’ll unpack the meaning behind gestures, rituals, greetings, and behaviors that often go unnoticed but speak volumes in cross-cultural interaction.

Along the way, you will learn:

  • How to communicate respectfully and meaningfully across cultures
  • The rituals and symbols that hold cultural and spiritual importance
  • When to bow, shake hands, hug, remain silent—or say nothing at all
  • How food, music, clothing, and celebration act as living languages of culture

By the end of the journey, you will walk away with more than knowledge—you’ll have expanded your cultural empathy, sharpened your intercultural communication skills, and deepened your connection to the world and the people in it. Whether you're an educator, leader, community builder, traveler, or simply a curious mind, Beyond Borders will open your heart and mind to perspectives that are as beautiful as they are different.
