   Teaching

G Suite G Suite is a collection of cloud-based communication, storage, productivity and collaboration tools. Visit the G Suite Learning Centre to learn more.
Gmail Gmail is email that's intuitive, efficient and useful.
Calendar Schedule meetings, events and reminders in this calendar program designed for teams. Share your schedule with others and create multiple calendars for groups.
Drive Google Drive provides unlimited file storage in the cloud. This allows you to easily access your files from any computer. No need to carry around external hard drives or USB sticks.
Docs Create and edit text documents in your web browser — no special software needed. Collaborate with others in the same document at the same time, track changes as they're made and be confident in the automatic save feature.
Sheets Handle task lists, create project plans, analyze data with charts and filters, and more in this spreadsheet program.
Slides Create pitch decks, project presentations, training modules and more in Slides.
myMRU Assign grades, access IT support, learn more about the tenure and promotion process, find supports for your students, and more on myMRU, the hub of your MRU account. This is also where you'll find workplace information such as timesheets, leave balances and benefits.
Global Connect VPN With this program, you can access MRU's network and your work desktop computer.
D2L D2L is Mount Royal's online learning management system. Connect with students, post course content, share announcements and more. Visit the Academic Development Centre for more information.
Microsoft Office 365 Suite Your free access to Microsoft Office 365 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more.
Project This project management software included in Microsoft Office 365 supports scheduling, progress tracking, resource allocation and more.
Visio Visio is also included in your Microsoft Office 365 plan. Use this diagramming and vector graphics program to draw flowcharts, diagrams, floor plans and more.
SMART Notebook Use this program with SMART Boards to create interactive presentations and lessons.

 

   Video conferencing

Meet Use Google Meet to video conference, share your screen, deliver a presentation, facilitate group work and much more.
Cisco WebEx This video conferencing platform offers web conferencing, including breakout rooms, Q&A and polling. Request a license from virtualconferencing@mtroyal.ca

 

   Accessibility

Avid Media Composer Avid Media Composer is a non-linear film and video editing software application.
Buril This suite of computer newsroom tools supports the gathering, creation, editing and sharing of content on multiple platforms.
Sound Ideas From thunderstorms to the roar of the crowd, this sound effects library boasts one the largest commercially available collections in the world.

 

   Data analysis

ChemDraw Use this software to draw chemistry molecules.
Matlab Access this multi-paradigm numerical computing environment and proprietary programming language through the Virtual Computer Lab (vLab). The vLab site also has how-to guides, best practices and more.
Minitab Find this leading software used for statistics education in the Virtual Computer Lab (vLab). The vLab site also has how-to guides, best practices and more.
Mobius Assessment This web-based system is used for creating tests and assignments, and automatically assessing student responses and performance.
NVivo Analyze unstructured or qualitative data such as interviews, open-ended survey responses, journal articles, social media and web content with NVivo.
Qualtrics Use Qualtrics to deliver an unlimited number of surveys to an unlimited number of respondents with collaborators both inside and outside of the MRU community.
Quickbooks This accounting software is widely used by small- and medium-sized businesses.
R/R Studio Integrated development environment for R, a programming language for statistical computing and graphics, can be accessed through the Virtual Computer Lab (vLab). The vLab site also has how-to guides, best practices and more.
Rhino This is a modeling tool for NURBS curves.
Sage 50 Sage 50 is a small-business desktop accounting solution.
Sona Systems This cloud-based software supports research participant management.

Stata IC Stata IC is a general-purpose statistical software.
Tableau (Reader) Tableau Reader allows users to open and interact with data visualizations built into Tableau Desktop. Request a free one-year academic teaching license.

 

   Design

Adobe Acrobat Pro Adobe Acrobat Pro allows users to manipulate PDFs, sign digital documents and more. Complete this request form and attach it to a ServiceNow ticket.
Adobe Creative Cloud This collection of software — including Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Lightroom — is used for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography and more. Complete this request form and attach it to a ServiceNow ticket.
AutoCAD/AutoDesk This computer-aided design (CAD) software is used in design and drafting. With eligibility confirmation, faculty can receive one year of educational access.
SketchUp Pro SketchUp Pro is used for 3D modelling.
SnagIt This screenshot program captures video display and audio output.

 

   Earth Sciences

AccuMap Mapping, data management and analysis software for companies operating in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
Aquifer Test Pro This software package analyzes, interprets and visualizes pumping and slug test data.
ArcGIS Pro Build interactive web maps with ArcGIS Pro Online, Esri's web-based mapping software. Gain new perspectives and enhanced details as you interact with data, zoom in, and search on the map. Use smart, data-driven mapping styles and intuitive analysis tools to gain location intelligence. Share your insights with specific groups or the entire world.
CS Land This land management software is used in the Canadian oil and gas industry.
ENVI This imagery extraction software is used by GIS professionals, remote sensing scientists and image analysts.

Lasergene Lasergene is a suite of bioinformatics software.
MediaLab This software provides a quality management platform for health care.

 

   Referencing

EndNote EndNote is the industry-standard software tool for publishing and managing bibliographies, citations and references.
Mendeley Use the free Mendeley reference management software to save and organize bibliographic information and create reference lists and citations for papers. Faculty180 Faculty 180 provides a user-friendly interface for faculty reporting and meets MRU’s reporting requirements, including accreditation and program reviews.
Romeo Use Romeo to submit research and scholarship projects for institutional review and approval. It also helps maintain compliance obligations for ethics approvals and research awards with enhanced project management capabilities.
