Network Upgrade Schedule

Over the next few weeks the ITS department will be making critical network upgrades in response to recent network related issues. This work will be scheduled outside regular University hours, and notifications to our users will be sent in advance of each planned upgrade.

Migration of Research DMZ network traffic to the new network infrastructure.

Migration of Wireless network traffic to new network infrastructure.

July 9th

Migration of MRU publicly accessible servers network traffic including MyMRU, Mtroyal.ca, Blackboard, Banner SSB to the new network infrastructure.

Successful without incident.
No end user impact.

July 16th

Migration of the end user campus network traffic to the new network infrastructure.

Successful without incident.
No end user impact.

Aug 13th

Both internal traffic to the Internet, as well as Internet traffic to internal systems. Includes all workstations, data centre networks and DC zones. Does NOT include public-facing services (e.g., DMZ traffic) or wireless.

Successful without incident.
No end user impact.

Sept. 10
2030 - 2400HRS

A very small number of services will be impacted as follows: Math and Computing VPN access and Broadcast Interstellar. 

Anticipated outage time 30 minutes.
