Residence is open year-round and can accommodate students - as well as guests and visitors - during the Spring and Summer terms, May through August.

Important Eligibility Note

Students applying for the Spring and/or Summer terms must have an active application for the following Fall or Academic Year in Residence and must be enrolled as an MRU student for the Fall term.

Spring/Summer student housing is available in designated areas for current residents as well as new students registered in Spring/Summer courses. Both current and new residents must submit new applications for Spring/Summer housing.

Spring/Summer housing contracts are from the beginning of May to the middle of August - exact dates vary by year, please check Dates & Deadlines for current information. You will be charged nightly for the days between the end of the Winter term and the beginning of the Spring term if you choose to stay in Residence between those terms.

If you only need to stay a few extra days...

If you only need to stay a few extra days after the Winter term ends, you can apply for a contract extension. Additional nightly fees will apply.

Current residents will be assigned housing in the designated area for student Spring/Summer housing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you have not lived in Residence before, you must be enrolled in classes in the Spring/Summer term.

Please note: If you wish to continue to live in Residence in the Fall term, you will move to a Fall housing assignment in the middle of August. You will be charged nightly for the days between the Summer and Fall semester if you choose to stay in Residence between those terms.

International students

If you are an English as a Second Language (ESL) or other international student and will stay at Mount Royal University for the Fall term, you must re-apply for Fall residence housing. There is no deadline to apply for housing; however space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
