Protocol and Engagement Support Initiative

This initiative launched in June 2024 and aims to support initiatives that advance indigenization and decolonization efforts on our campus.The application process is open and available year-round.

The purpose of the funding is to support respectful engagements of elders and knowledge keepers. The Office of Indigenization and Decolonization can also be accessed for non-financial advice and support.

Indigenization Access Fund

The Indigenization Access Fund was established through a Memorandum of Understanding between the Board of Governors of Mount Royal University and the Mount Royal Faculty Association, following ratification of the 2024–2028 Collective Agreement.

Advancing Re(al)conciliation

Registration is still open for Advancing Re(al)conciliation — a free, self-paced online Indigenous cultural awareness course offered by First Nations University of Canada with the support of RBC and the RBC Foundation.
Designed for learners across Canada, this course explores the histories and ongoing realities that shape Indigenous experiences today while encouraging meaningful reflection and action toward reconciliation.

📚 Free for all Canadians until Aug. 31, 2026

4 Seasons of Reconciliation

4 Seasons of Reconciliation is a series of bilingual online resources that promote a renewed relationship between Indigenous Peoples and Canadians through transformative and engaging learning towards anti-racism education. This initiative assists workplace and education organizations in providing awareness through self-paced online courses featuring award-winning films, slideshows, videos, quizzes and a completion certificate provided by Reconciliation Education Canada. This course is available through the Employee Learning System.
