Arthur M. Szabo

Arthur M. Szabo, K.C., ICD.D, has practised law in Calgary since 1985 and has been active in the development and management of commercial and industrial real estate since 1990. He was appointed King’s Counsel in 2004 and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada. As principal of Szabo & Company, his work centres on negotiation, structuring commercial transactions, governance, and strategic personal and business planning. He is a director of the Luxor Group of Companies — a privately held, family-managed group focused on patient investment and financing for independent businesses and real estate, with emphasis on commercial office and self-storage properties. Arthur has long contributed as an advisor and board member to community and charitable organizations, including the Shriners, the Calgary Rite to Learn Foundation, the Hungarian Arts & Heritage Foundation of Alberta, and the Alberta Jubilee Auditoria Society. Together with his spouse, Nancy, he established the Szabo Family Foundation. Arthur has served as Honorary Consul of Hungary for Alberta since 2005 and, in 2020, was decorated with the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit. Arthur brings to the IMPC Council a blend of legal, commercial, governance, and philanthropic experience, and a continuing commitment to Alberta’s cultural, educational, and business communities.
