BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Fiona Robinson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Innovation and Marketing at Mount Royal University. Her research examines how innovation and entrepreneurship can be leveraged to advance equity and social impact, particularly for individuals and communities pursuing nontraditional or overlooked pathways.
Her research integrates insights from transitional and creative entrepreneurship to explore how people build adaptive, opportunity-creating practices in response to complex challenges. Current projects examine inclusive and community-driven models of innovation and the ethical and practical dimensions of AI adoption among creative practitioners. Dr. Robinson is particularly interested in how individuals and organizations navigate uncertainty, combining creativity, technology, and collaboration to generate meaningful change.
Her scholarship of teaching and learning extends these ideas into the classroom, investigating how experiential and project-based learning cultivate the capabilities that enable inclusive innovation. She emphasizes collaboration, reflection, and real-world engagement, and as Faculty Advisor for the Enactus Club, mentors students leading social innovation initiatives that apply entrepreneurial thinking to community challenges and social change.
