Assistant Professor, General Management and Communications

Jamie Anne Vaughan is an educator, communications and marketing consultant, and entrepreneur, with over a decade of experience in the corporate and agency sectors. She joined Mount Royal University in 2021 as a sessional instructor in the Department of Public Relations and, in 2025, transitioned to an assistant professor role, cross-appointed to the Bissett School of Business and the School of Communication Studies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Film & Media from Queen's University and an MBA with a specialization in Leadership from Dalhousie University. She is currently pursuing a PhD of Transdisciplinary Research with a focus on the impact of AI in business leadership communication at the University of Calgary.

As the founder and principal of Westwood Strategies, a communications and marketing consultancy, Jamie has worked with clients across diverse industries, including energy, technology, retail, agriculture, finance, and wellness. Known for her strategic insight and influential expertise, she is sought after for her ability to develop impactful communication strategies that align with client goals and industry trends.

In addition to her work at MRU, Jamie actively contributes to her field as a mentor to emerging professionals. She is a board member of the Calgary chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) as well as the Ethics Board for IBAC International.

Outside of work, Jamie is a pilates enthusiast who enjoys time in the mountains and die hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan.
