When to move in
Fall 2026 Move-In Day
Saturday, August 29, 2026
- 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.: Check in at the Recreation Concourse in U Wing.
- 3:00–8:00 p.m.: Check in at the Residence Services Front Desk in West Residence, Building B.
- After 8:00 p.m.: Call the Residence on-call number at 403.542.8215 when you arrive.
Students will receive an email from Residence Services containing their room assignment, move-in instructions, and information about selecting a move-in time slot.
If you are unable to arrive on Move-In Day, please contact Residence Services before your arrival.
International students - Fall
We cannot guarantee that your room will be available before Move-In Day. If you need to arrive early, please fill out the Early Arrival Request form in the Residence Application Portal. If your room is available, you will be charged a nightly rate for each night before Move-In Day.
Winter 2027 Move-In Day
Sunday, January 3, 2027 – 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Regardless of where your residence unit is located, check in at the Residence Services Front Desk in West Residence, Building B.
If you cannot check in during this time, please contact Residence Services to make alternate arrangements.
Due to the university’s winter holiday closure, residents cannot move in before Winter Move-In Day on January 3.
International students – WinterIf your flight is scheduled to arrive outside regular business hours, please contact Residence Services in advance to make alternate check-in arrangements.
We cannot accommodate arrivals before Winter Move-In Day on January 3.
Spring/Summer 2027 Move-In
The Spring/Summer move-in date and check-in hours will be posted when they are confirmed.
Current residents staying for the Spring/Summer terms may be required to move to designated summer housing during the first week of May.
Winter Term to Spring Term Gap Days: If you remain in Residence between the end of the Winter term and the beginning of the Spring term, you will be charged a nightly rate for the nights between the two terms.
International or Exchange Students - Spring and Spring/SummerIf you are an International or Exchange Student whose program begins in April, please contact Residence Services to discuss your options.
Depending on availability, you may need to stay in a temporary unit before moving to your assigned summer accommodation.
