Sarah Matheson is an instructor in the Film Studies and General Education departments at Mount Royal University as well as a professional musician, performing and recording on baritone saxophone, flute and bass clarinet with a variety of artists and ensembles in Alberta.  

Her primary research focus is the psychology of music in multimedia, with an emphasis on music’s role in narrative contexts such as film, video games, opera, programme music and advertising.  In addition to film music, Sarah’s research and instruction extends to the overall study of film and film genres
